The George C Scum Rock & Roll review began when East Side guitar legend Lou Tennant and self proclaimed 1998 Karaoke Champ of Montebello’s Beverly Bowl’s Masquerade Room, Max Doppler got together to cover Loverboy’s “Everybody’s Working For the Weekend” at Union Station for weed and beer money. The duo performed covers for winos on various sidewalks and to degenerate gamblers at poker games around the Eastside but imagined they were performing at spots like the Bufadora bar and Lito’s Cork Room. Eventually, long time friend from the 80’s, drummer “Injun” Sal who tattoos, lowrides and kicks back had an idea to bring on Nuclear Physicist and bass player “Captain” Vic for a one time performance at his Echo Park Tattoo shop, El Clasico to support the 2023 edition of Echo Park Rising. Expect a lot or expect nothing from this Eastside quartet.
